Returning to the Sierra Madre

Fallout New Vegas still contains some of my favourite stories in media. Today I was lucky enough to see my roommate play through the Dead Money DLC, and although (as anyone who played it will tell you) it was a huge slog, the characters and plotline, as well as the stellar atmosphere Obsidian was able to deliver with the time and resources they had, were still some of the best I've seen not only in gaming but in general.

If you are planning to try out New Vegas, I would highly recommend you finish as much of the base game as possible - I first played through the DLCs in release order right after finishing the main story without even trying out the NCR or Legion questlines, let alone some of the smaller ones. The context and experience you will get playing them will greatly aid 1. your understanding of the lore and of how you have impacted the Mojave, and 2. the difficulty of Dead Money and Lonesome Road. I definitely plan to come back to New Vegas and give the other base game questlines a proper shake when I can, though. That's all from me today - see you tomorrow!
